We live in the age of information and internet is our prime source of it. While, businesses and marketers have relied on internet to connect with consumers. Many struggle to deliver the relevant information.
Site owners practice different strategies to promote their products and services. Content marketing/ Content writing is a popular way of reaching out among business owners. There are many simple techniques that you can use to make your writing style more conversational. And to make your life a little easier
I have highlighted below a few tips for writing conversational content in 2020
Write the way you talk; the way people talk
To Write conversational content, it’s important to understand how you sound when you talk. Do you use complicated sentences when talking in general? I suppose not. Therefore, use simple, easy words and short sentences just like we do in verbal conversations. You can take some time to reflect on your verbal interactions or check your social media posts to see your casual approach. Conversation style of writing needs the same kind of approach. Using slangs or formal and complex words is a strict “No”.
Use more conversational content
such as contractions to sound more natural. You can also use interjections or exclamatory words to make it sound more casual. Ask questions to connect with your users.
Goodbye grammar!
Remember those grammar rules your teachers so emphasised about? Forget them. There’re no rules to conversational writing as far as the expression is clear and correct. Conversational writing should be fun for readers. Read authors with conversational style of writing. In the end, give your unique touch.
Address your reader directly
by writing to engage and connect, to make the reader feel like you’re writing for him/her personally. Include “I”, “you” and “we” to establish a connection with readers. It will make your readers feel like the content is personalized for them and they’re your favorite readers.

Include Story telling in your content. One of the most important factors to keep your users/readers engaged with your content is its story telling. We love stories. Story-telling makes it easier to grasp concepts which are too difficult otherwise. It is a sure way of getting your message across without losing user’s attention.
Rehearse in your monologue
Do you hear voices in your head? If yes, then good. Read what you’ve written out loud or in your head before publishing your content. Read it multiple times so you can understand where it stands from a reader’s point of view.
If you include these techniques into your writing style, it will turn the tables for you. Whether you write for business purposes or whether it’s just a hobby. Writing in conversational style will get you more audience and the desired output.
